“Go home,” Jolie said,
as cold as it was bold.
I was stunned then laughed
chagrined and nonplussed.
This was a way to hold her hand,
I thought, although ancient,
it was a way to do this, casually.
Drinking and smoking are fun,
Jolie, but their effects wear off,
and you are left with you.
I am not, and older and wiser,
I move to the next waif, in hopes.
