That sin may not be original January 24, 2016

You put your time into fostering your legacy
without understanding your motivation, extinguishing your worth.
When you see the windows and doors quake with your panicking
you begin to seriously consider the question of re-birth.
Renewal, for you, is a tool, not a jewel, no measure of its value,
instead you leverage its utility, sans nobility, watching it bleed out.
The colors are pulsating red nursing anger of your myopic point of view,
and you won’t take time to listen to what we’re really all about.
That sin may not be original to you and me.
That sin may not send you directly to hell.
The tormented soul inside longs to be free.
That tormented soul inside is praying to get well.
Nation on nation are not wars of our choosing,
Stepping back you know how to weigh our consequences.
In the end its not about winning or losing,
Its about events and their sequence.
And you won’t stand still to hear the echoes in your ear
Coming back from a time you escaped with regret.
Not facing your demons but running from your fears
You know for a fact it will make you forget.
That sin may not be original to you and me.
That sin may not send you directly to hell.

Your tormented soul inside longs to be free.
Your tormented soul inside is praying to get well.

You long to look beyond the tragedy
knowing they step around where you fell.
Angels of mercy are no consolation.
Angels of grace hover, no aid to give.
When your soul is barren in its desolation
Will you find the means to surrender and live?
That sin may not be original to you and me.
That sin may not send you directly to hell.
Your tortured soul searches for reprieve.
Your tortured soul is praying to get well.
