Millennial Fatalists March 12, 2015

Millennial fatalists void of hope, lack of vision and no faith,
and they believe they must live in the moment, forever.
They are infectious in a viral Snapchat, Instagram way.
No intention of making things last, just post it because you can.

Hit and run – the worst kind of drive-by media, gawkers.
Reveling in their disdain of society, humans, and their friends,
nothing ever good enough, nothing of substance and truth
when – all the time – they shun quality, thoughtfulness and justice.

Stopping only to collapse into their soap opera lives,
caricatures of themselves and the banal lives they are leading.
They are a generation in search of a Montessori school bubble
where everyone is right and all thought is unimpeachable.

At the end of the day, it’s night, and it must have a hashtag
because you can’t possibly be real without a feed or blog
for what is life if you aren’t trending?
Glaring at you blankly, they light a cigarette and blow the smoke in your face.
