Anger Impeached December 4, 2007

Anger is impeached and waits for its helicopter

and I weigh it, that it can’t be too far gone, and it

can’t hurry faster than I want it to leave.

But here it sits with me in this purgatory,

waiting room for God and bane of my detention.

Albatross, hung about my neck, and dripping

over my shoulders, this anger impeached, but not subdued.

Hints of peace and bargaining chips of discretion line the

halls and defend the fortresses and wait quietly for

nothing to wait for, it is their job, and they simply do it.

Anger impeached, peace at peril, and no voice willing,

no hand obedient to the task, no mind engaged in disengagement,

to dispose of anger impeached and waiting for its helicopter.
