It went sideways, is what I heard, there was a deal

then there is no deal, it all went sideways.

It’s going sideways, is what I heard, one minute the wife

she’s here then she’s gone, it all went sideways.

The whole thing’s sideways, is what I heard, my daughter

shakes her head and sips her drink, it’s all sideways.

It’s been sideways, is what I heard, my son coming to grips

then slipping off, all he knows, it all went sideways.

It all went sideways, is what I know, and it’s beyond imagination

out of left field, name the cliche, it all went sideways.
