Mountain boys come down on Saturdays

wife and kids in tow, cell phone on the ear.

Talkin to some huntin buddie on his way

to the bar celebrating his killing deer.

Life is good when you can get the money

to shop at the Wal-Mart, grab some pizza,

maybe even go dancin with your honey

drop the kids at Moms and grab your own buzz.

Life never seemed so fast and so slow,

wasn’t I datin three girls, had a fast car,

spent all my cash freely not too long ago?

Now if I can scrape a couple of dimes for the bar

I believe I’m king for the day.

Life is good when you can get the money

to shop at the Wal-Mart, grab some pizza,

maybe even go dancin with your honey

drop the kids at Moms and grab your own buzz.

So, I’ll go to church on Sunday and pray for better,

who doesn’t, who shouldn’t, so I will.

I pray for no frost, for the fields to be wetter,

and I pray for a spirit the devil can’t kill.

Life is good when you can get the money

to shop at the Wal-Mart, grab some pizza,

maybe even go dancin with your honey

drop the kids at Moms and grab your own buzz.
