Piano Played April 14, 2007

The piano played.
Soloist setting a romantic, but nearly lonely, mood
for the hotel guests, who sat in silent anticipation.

The piano played.
Soloist controlling the climate, but giving enough to invite more ears
and many passers-by looked without stopping.

The piano played.
Soloist not afraid of the silence between the notes but pushing it enough for the blues
and soon there were standers in the back.

The piano played.
Soloist in command of the moment and giving just enough to cast a wider net
and people crowded in front of the standers in the back.

The piano played.
Soloist setting a romantic, if almost lonely, mood
and the hotel lobby was filled and flowing into the street.
