Start In The Middle April 3, 2007

What if we start in the middle and just pick up from wherever we are?
The beginning doesn’t matter and we can take it to the end,
At least what we can know of the end and the beginning can be left alone.
We don’t have to re-live yesterday. We don’t have to know what started it.
We just take it as we see it and move it along. It’s that simple.
We can dislike this place or embrace it cleanly without judgment.
But if we turn away right now, we’ll have no sense of where it is
And where it can go. We are only vapors, here one moment then gone.
If it’s thick and dense like a layer cake or hard and slippery like ice,
We’ll just take it as we get it and bring it to where it needs to be.
Whether we devour it or watch it melt and take the water for sustenance,
It will happen as it will and we can be guide, but not governor.
What brought us here can’t take us where we need to go
So we abandon the old ways with it’s good and it’s ill and we carry forth.
