Welcome to my art, or whatever you’d like to label it. Here’s an initial taste…

BILLY PRESTON
June 7, 2006

Everybody had a good year
So John sang and I believe he did
Although I’m not sure about “everybody”
But singers have license to thrill
Taking us away from our lives if only for
Three minutes or so at a time
Then I heard Billy Preston left us
And I can hear him playing the One After Nine O Nine
And Will It Go Round just like he was a kid
I can’t feel sad about it even when he played Don’t Let Me Down
Since he never did.
Asking after John, George and Billy does no good today
But Thomas Alva Edison gave us means to remember them
Until the end of time.
So there are days to remember and days to forget
And the longer the shadow casts across the setting sun of this dear life
We cherish the memories all the more.
